Old Fort Park

Old Fort Park, located in Fort Wayne, Indiana, is the city’s oldest park, established in 1863. Nestled at the intersection of Clay and Main Streets, the park occupies a modest 0.20 acres and offers visitors a glimpse into the city’s storied past. The park holds historical significance as the site of a well originally used by the inhabitants of the first Fort Wayne, which was dedicated to General Anthony Wayne in 1794. Throughout its history, the location also served as the site of three successive fortifications, the last of which was completed in 1816 under Major John Whistler.

Though compact in size, Old Fort Park is steeped in history and features a replica of the historic fort, giving visitors a chance to step back in time.
