About Ringgold Park in Indianapolis

Ringgold Park is a small neighborhood park located in Indianapolis, Indiana, situated between the Bates-Hendricks and Fountain Square neighborhoods. Established in the early 1900s, the park was relocated during the construction of Interstate 65 and has since undergone revitalizations to enhance its appeal. Most recently, in 2023, the playground was updated as part of a $16 million city-wide investment in new playgrounds funded by the American Rescue Plan.

The park spans 0.19 acres and focuses on creating a family-friendly environment. It features a modernized playground with amenities such as a slide, climbing structure, rubberized turf surfacing, an adaptive swing set, and a seesaw. The park also emphasizes nature by incorporating native plants, bird boxes to attract local wildlife, and a natural space developed in collaboration with Keep Indianapolis Beautiful. Despite being close to the interstate, the park offers a serene green space for relaxation and recreation, serving as a community hub for its surrounding neighborhoods.
