Coquillard Park

Coquillard Park, located in South Bend, Indiana, is one of the city's oldest neighborhood parks, having been incorporated into the local park system in 1906. It spans over 8 acres and serves as a tranquil retreat with its lightly tree-shaded grounds and open spaces designed for play and recreation. The park was originally part of a larger tract of land envisioned by Alexis Coquillard, a key figure in the founding of South Bend. Though his grand plans for a sprawling park did not fully materialize, a 10-acre portion of the land was later developed into the park we see today.

The park features open fields suitable for a variety of recreational activities, including soccer, basketball, and volleyball. Its pathways are well-maintained, making it an inviting spot for walking, jogging, or casual strolls. For families, Coquillard Park offers multiple playgrounds for children and a recently upgraded splash pad, located near the basketball and tennis courts. A pavilion with picnic tables provides a shaded space for rest or small gatherings.
