Heritage Park is a sprawling 1,238-acre recreational area located in Olathe, Kansas. Operated by the Johnson County Park and Recreation District, the park offers a diverse range of activities and amenities, making it a hub for outdoor enthusiasts and families alike. The park features a stunning 40-acre lake, which is popular among fishing and boating enthusiasts. Visitors are required to have state fishing licenses and applicable JCPRD permits to use the lake. Though currently undergoing improvements, the lake remains a signature element of the park.
Another prominent feature of Heritage Park is its 18-hole championship golf course, which blends tree-lined fairways and open links-style holes. This course includes a driving range and a clubhouse equipped with a pro shop, snack bar, and lounge. For disc golf enthusiasts, a challenging 18-hole disc golf course meanders through wooded and prairie areas of the park.
For dog owners, the expansive 30-acre off-leash area offers a fenced open space, a small pond, and shaded sections. Amenities here include loop trails and accessible parking. Sports enthusiasts will appreciate numerous athletic fields for soccer, softball, and football, while equestrians can enjoy the nearby horse facilities with cross-country courses and jumps.
