About Frontier Park in Olathe
Frontier Park is a 20-acre community park located in Olathe, Kansas, dedicated in 1979. The park is situated along Indian Creek Parkway, offering a variety of recreational facilities and green spaces for local residents and visitors.
The park features multiple sports fields, including two softball fields and one soccer field, catering to various athletic activities. A half-basketball court is also available for those who enjoy shooting hoops. For younger visitors, there is a playground with a pirate ship theme, which includes multiple slides and swings.
Frontier Park is connected to the Indian Creek Trail, providing opportunities for walking, jogging, and biking. The park's layout includes ample green space for casual recreation and relaxation. During the summer months, Frontier Park hosts the Olathe Free Summer Concert Series, adding a cultural dimension to its offerings.
Two park shelters are available on a first-come, first-served basis, each equipped with picnic tables that can seat up to 16 people. These shelters also feature charcoal grills, lights, electricity, and water access, making them suitable for small gatherings and picnics.
