About Hisle Farm Park in Lexington
Hisle Farm Park is a serene recreational area located approximately five miles northeast of downtown Lexington, Kentucky. Spanning around 280 acres, the park is characterized by its rolling pasturelands, offering visitors a tranquil escape into nature. Its landscape is ideal for outdoor activities, particularly hiking and horseback riding, thanks to a well-maintained shared-use trail system. The park features two trails: a 1-mile loop and a 2.5-mile loop, both of which are mowed paths winding through scenic fields. These trails are accessible to both hikers and equestrian enthusiasts, with safety guidelines in place to ensure an enjoyable experience for all users.
In addition to its trail system, Hisle Farm Park is home to a unique 10-lane archery range. This facility, accessible year-round during daylight hours, has two permanent targets and also allows visitors to bring their commercially purchased targets to use on the remaining lanes. The park’s rules ensure that archery activities are conducted with utmost safety, making it a popular spot for both beginners and experienced archers. Importantly, while pets are welcome on the trails, they are restricted from entering the archery range.
Hisle Farm Park is dog-friendly, with leashed pets allowed on its trails, making the park an excellent choice for families and pet owners. A gravel road leads visitors to the central parking area, providing convenient access to the park’s amenities.
