Heymann Park

Heymann Park is a community park located in Lafayette, Louisiana. This 28-acre green space is one of Lafayette's oldest neighborhoods and is part of the McComb-Veazey Cultural District. The park features rolling hills and is nestled among lush greenery and towering trees, providing a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of urban life.

The park offers a variety of recreational facilities for visitors to enjoy. It includes a 0.5-mile jogging trail that winds through the park, allowing for pleasant walks or runs amidst the natural surroundings. For sports enthusiasts, the park boasts lighted tennis courts with a hitting wall, a regulation-size baseball field, and outdoor basketball courts.

Heymann Park is also home to an 18-hole disc golf course, which has garnered attention for its unique layout. The course is known for its long open drives, with six holes over 400 feet in length. It also features some challenging low ceilings created by sprawling oak trees, adding an extra layer of difficulty for disc golf players.

The park includes a full-size pavilion equipped with barbecue pits and restrooms, which needs to be reserved for use. This feature makes Heymann Park an ideal location for community gatherings, picnics, and outdoor events.

At the heart of the park lies the Heymann Park Recreation Center, which offers indoor facilities for fitness enthusiasts. The center includes a weight room and gymnasium, providing options for productive indoor workouts.
