Established in 1949 during the Urban Big City Playground period, Joseph E. Lee Park was named after Joseph E. Lee, who served as president of the National Recreation Association from 1910 to 1937 and is regarded as the "father of the playgrounds". The park continues to honor Lee's legacy by providing a variety of recreational facilities for local residents.
Spanning approximately 24.2 acres, Joseph E. Lee Park offers a mix of open spaces and specialized athletic facilities.
