Emily Bill Park

Emily Bill Park is a public recreational area located in the Lower Liberty Heights neighborhood of Springfield, Massachusetts. The park underwent a significant renovation project in 2019-2020, funded by a $400,000 Parkland Acquisitions & Renovations for Communities (PARC) grant from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and an additional $250,000 from Community Development Block Grant funding.

The renovation, completed in 2020, addressed longstanding drainage issues and improved the overall park infrastructure. The project, which cost a total of $650,000, aimed to enhance the park's facilities and create a more inviting space for local residents. The improvements were designed to maximize multigenerational and family-friendly passive and active recreational opportunities.

Emily Bill Park serves as a focal point for the Lower Liberty Heights community, offering a variety of amenities for visitors of all ages. The park's design incorporates accessible features to ensure inclusivity for all users. Its location near the Belle and Franklin Streets Historic District adds to the area's cultural significance.

Named after Emily Bill, the wife of Gurdon Bill, the park is one of five "Bill Parks" in Springfield, reflecting the family's historical importance to the city.
