Coes Park

Coes Park, located in Worcester, Massachusetts, is a 23.2-acre urban oasis that offers a variety of recreational opportunities for visitors of all ages and abilities. The park is situated around Coes Reservoir, commonly referred to as Coes Pond, and incorporates several properties including the former Coes Knife factory site.

The park features a state-of-the-art, universally accessible, multigenerational playground that has become one of the most popular in the city. This playground includes 57 accessible features, making it an inclusive space for children and adults of all abilities to play and interact.

One of the park's historical attractions is the 204-year-old Stearns Tavern, which has been repurposed to house the Seven Hills Foundation. The foundation operates a café and workforce training programs for individuals with disabilities on the first floor of this historic structure.

Coes Park is part of a larger green space network, connecting to approximately 5 miles of walking trails, including the East-West Trail. These trails link the park to other nearby recreational areas such as John J. Binienda Memorial Beach, Columbus Park, and Reed Memorial Rectangular Field.

The park's location along Mill Street also places it near the Major Taylor Bike Trail, named after the African-American cycling champion Marshall Walter "Major" Taylor, adding to its historical significance and recreational offerings.

During winter months, visitors can enjoy sledding on the park's hill, making it a year-round destination for outdoor enthusiasts.
