About Swift Run Park in Ann Arbor
Swift Run Dog Park is located at the northeast corner of the Swift Run landfill, at the intersection of Ellsworth Road and Platt Road in southeast Ann Arbor, Michigan. The park spans 10 acres of fenced grassland, providing a spacious environment for dogs to run and play off-leash.
The park is divided into designated areas for small and large dogs, allowing for safer play based on dog size. Swift Run Dog Park is open during regular park hours from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. An annual permit is required for access to the off-leash areas, which can be obtained from the Ann Arbor City Clerk's Office.
The terrain of the park is primarily open field, which can become muddy after rain or during thaw periods. While the park offers ample space for dogs to exercise, it has limited shade and is situated near a busy intersection. Despite its proximity to the road, the fence appears secure, ensuring the safety of the dogs within the park.
Swift Run Dog Park is maintained through a partnership between the City of Ann Arbor and Washtenaw County, with both entities contributing financially to its upkeep.
