About Seymour Park in Grand Rapids
Seymour Park is a public park located in the Alger Heights neighborhood of Grand Rapids, Michigan. The park sits on the former site of Seymour Christian School, which closed in the early 2000s. After the school's closure, part of the property was redeveloped into condominiums by Inner City Christian Federation (ICCF), while the remaining land was converted into the current park space.
The park provides green space and recreational amenities for residents of the surrounding Alger Heights community. It is situated near the intersection of Alger Street and Eastern Avenue, in a primarily residential area with single-family homes. The park helps serve the recreational needs of families and children in this established Grand Rapids neighborhood.
While not one of the largest parks in Grand Rapids, Seymour Park offers basic amenities for outdoor activities and gatherings. Its central location within a residential area makes it a convenient spot for nearby residents to enjoy outdoor recreation close to home.
