About Lefleur's Bluff State Park in Jackson
LeFleur's Bluff State Park is a 305-acre urban oasis located in the heart of Jackson, Mississippi. The park is situated along the Pearl River and offers a blend of natural beauty and recreational opportunities just minutes from downtown.
The park is named after Louis LeFleur, a French-Canadian explorer who established a trading post on the site in the late 1700s. Today, it serves as a refuge from the bustle of the city, with lush woodlands, scenic trails, and a 50-acre lake called Mayes Lake.
Visitors to LeFleur's Bluff can enjoy hiking through nature trails that wind through the forest and along the Pearl River. The park's trail system includes short loops suitable for families as well as longer routes for more experienced hikers. Wildlife viewing opportunities abound, with the chance to spot deer, birds, turtles and other native species.
