Columbus Square Park, located in Kansas City's historic Columbus Park neighborhood, is a cherished green space blending history, community, and recreation. Originally developed in 1909 and renamed in 1926 to honor the neighborhood's significant Italian immigrant population, the park has undergone numerous transformations reflecting its community’s evolving needs and tastes.

The park is a serene oasis near downtown Kansas City and the River Market area. It features large grassy spaces, playgrounds, and picnic tables for leisurely family outings. Visitors can enjoy the beauty of mature trees, a variety of sitting areas, and historical features like a stone gazebo installed in 1998. Rich in history, Columbus Square Park initially included a wading pool, a pergola designed by landscape architect George Kessler, and organized community activities like games and dances. Over the years, it has been redesigned multiple times; notable additions include bocce ball courts in the 1990s, which emphasize its Italian heritage. The current playground, completed in 2002, offers modern amenities for children to enjoy.
