Phipps Park

Phipps Park is a 350-acre public park located on the western edge of Billings, Montana. The park features a network of unpaved hiking and jogging trails that wind through its natural, undeveloped landscape. A steep but short trail leads to the top of a mesa, offering sweeping views of the surrounding prairie and distant mountains.

The park is popular for outdoor activities like hiking, trail running, and mountain biking. It also contains an 18-hole disc golf course that utilizes the park's varied terrain. The natural setting provides habitat for local wildlife, including deer, rabbits, and various bird species.

Phipps Park is known for its rugged, rocky terrain and provides a quick escape into nature close to the city. The trails range from relatively flat sections to steep, challenging climbs. Visitors should be prepared for potentially uneven and rocky surfaces on many of the paths.

The park is open daily from 5am to 10pm. While offering recreational opportunities, Phipps Park remains largely undeveloped, preserving its natural character for visitors to enjoy.
