About Silver Springs Park in Henderson
Silver Springs Park is a 6.8-acre public park located at 1950 Silver Springs Parkway in Henderson, Nevada. The park originally opened in 1989 and underwent significant renovations in 2011 to improve its facilities and water efficiency.
During the 2011 renovation project, the city removed approximately 87,000 square feet of turf and upgraded the irrigation system. This effort was projected to save 6.6 million gallons of water annually. The $1.5 million renovation was funded through a combination of city utility services funds, rebates from the Southern Nevada Water Authority, and Residential Construction Tax.
The park serves the surrounding neighborhood, including students from nearby Gibson Elementary School. It is also adjacent to the Silver Springs Recreation Center, creating a larger recreational complex for the community.
Silver Springs Park provides a mix of active and passive recreation options for visitors. The renovated park features new turf areas, updated playground equipment with shade structures, and various sports facilities. Its central location and range of amenities make it a popular destination for families and residents seeking outdoor activities in Henderson.
