Sparks Marina Park is a 109-acre public park located in Sparks, Nevada. The centerpiece of the park is the 77-acre Helms Lake, which was formed when a gravel pit filled with water during flooding in 1997. The lake is stocked with fish by the Nevada Department of Wildlife and offers opportunities for fishing, boating, and other water activities.
The park features a 2-mile paved walking and biking trail that loops around the lake, providing scenic views of the water and surrounding landscape. There are two sand beaches along the shoreline where visitors can relax or swim during warmer months.
Sparks Marina Park includes several recreational facilities for public use. There are volleyball courts, playgrounds for children, and picnic areas with tables and grills. The park also has a fenced dog park where pets can play off-leash.
Open from 6 AM to 10 PM daily, the park provides restroom facilities and is wheelchair accessible. While gas-powered boats are not allowed on the lake, visitors can use non-motorized watercraft or boats with electric motors. The park hosts occasional special events and activities throughout the year.
