Theodore Roosevelt Park

Theodore Roosevelt Park is an 18-acre green space located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, adjacent to the American Museum of Natural History. The park stretches from Central Park West to Columbus Avenue, between 77th and 81st Streets.

Named after the 26th President of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt, the park offers a peaceful respite from the bustling city. It features winding pathways, benches, and open grassy areas where visitors can relax, picnic, or enjoy outdoor activities. The park is known for its mature trees, including oaks and elms, which provide ample shade during warmer months.

One of the park's notable features is the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial, located at the Central Park West entrance. This grand entrance to the American Museum of Natural History includes a bronze equestrian statue of Roosevelt flanked by figures representing Africa and America.

The park underwent renovations in recent years, including the addition of new trees, shrubs, and ground cover. The Margaret Mead Green, a 13,500-square-foot lawn area within the park, was expanded to provide more open space for visitors. The park also includes a popular dog run where local residents can bring their pets to socialize and exercise.
