Grayson Park

Grayson Park is a public recreational area located in Charlotte, North Carolina. The park is owned and operated by Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation. It is situated at the corner of Wendover Road and Beal Street, serving as a hub for community engagement and outdoor activities.

The park features a variety of facilities catering to different interests and age groups. One of its main attractions is the Grayson Skatepark, which is one of only two such facilities in Mecklenburg County's park system. The skatepark covers an area of approximately 13,000 square feet and offers elements suitable for skaters of various skill levels, from beginners to more experienced enthusiasts.

In addition to the skatepark, Grayson Park includes several other recreational amenities. There are tennis courts, a basketball court, and a baseball field that doubles as a multipurpose field. For younger visitors, the park provides a playground area. The park also includes picnic facilities, making it a suitable spot for family outings or community gatherings.

Grayson Park is connected to the Naomi Drenan Recreation Center, which adds indoor facilities to the park's offerings. The recreation center includes a gymnasium, multipurpose rooms, and a kitchen, further expanding the range of activities available to visitors.

The park and its facilities have been serving the community for several decades, with the recreation center being over 30 years old. As of recent reports, both the park and the recreation center are undergoing renovations to modernize the facilities and improve functionality, with plans to enhance both indoor and outdoor amenities.
