Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation is a vast network of parks, facilities, and outdoor spaces located throughout Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. The department manages over 290 parks and facilities spread across more than 22,500 acres of parkland, providing diverse recreational opportunities for residents and visitors.

The park system includes a variety of natural areas, from urban parks to large nature preserves. It features an extensive network of greenways, with 33 miles of developed trails and 147 miles of undeveloped greenways, offering opportunities for walking, jogging, and cycling. The department also oversees 11 nature preserves, which protect environmentally sensitive areas and provide habitat for local flora and fauna.

Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation operates 27 recreation centers throughout the county, offering a wide range of programs and services for all ages. These centers provide spaces for fitness activities, sports, cultural arts, and youth development programs. The department also manages five public golf courses, three indoor pools, and two outdoor pools, catering to diverse recreational interests.

The park system is committed to enhancing community wellness through recreation, open space, and natural resources.
