McAlpine Creek Park is a 114-acre public park located in Charlotte, North Carolina. The park is situated at 8711 Monroe Road, about half a mile south of the intersection of Monroe Road and Village Lake Drive. It serves as a popular recreational destination for local residents and visitors alike.
The park features a 3-acre lake with a fishing pier, offering opportunities for fishing enthusiasts to catch channel catfish, largemouth bass, and bluegill. Fishing regulations limit catches to six catfish and five bass, with three of the bass required to be a minimum of 14 inches in length.
McAlpine Creek Park is known for its extensive trail system, including the McAlpine Creek Greenway. This greenway, constructed in 1978, was the first public greenway in North Carolina's western Piedmont. The park's trails are popular among hikers, joggers, and cross-country runners. In fact, the park hosts a 5K championship cross-country course that is frequently used by local schools and running events.
