About Lindley Park in Greensboro

Lindley Park is a 107-acre community park located in Greensboro, North Carolina. The park was established in 1902 when local businessman John Van Lindley donated 60 acres of land to the city. It has since grown to become a central feature of the surrounding Lindley Park neighborhood.

The park offers a variety of recreational facilities and natural areas for visitors to enjoy. It features two playgrounds, including Declan's Playground, which provides inclusive play equipment designed to accommodate children of all abilities. This playground includes zero-gravity swings, a sensory climbing dome, and a merry-go-all, making it accessible for wheelchairs and strollers.

Lindley Park also contains several open fields suitable for sports and other activities. A large natural area within the park provides opportunities for nature walks and wildlife observation. The park is traversed by a creek, adding to its scenic appeal.

Adjacent to Lindley Park is the Greensboro Arboretum, a 17-acre botanical garden that complements the park's green spaces. Together, these areas form a significant urban green space in Greensboro, offering residents and visitors alike a place for recreation, relaxation, and connection with nature.
