About Kentwood Park in Raleigh
Kentwood Park is a public recreational area located in Raleigh, North Carolina. Established in 1966, this 14.6-acre community park offers a variety of outdoor activities and amenities for visitors of all ages.
One of the park's main attractions is its 18-hole disc golf course, which is one of only two such courses in Raleigh. The course spans 4,085 feet in length and features concrete tee pads, making it suitable for both amateur and professional players. The park hosts regular disc golf tournaments, including professional and amateur events.
In addition to disc golf, Kentwood Park provides other recreational facilities. The park includes a lighted baseball field, four lighted tennis courts, and a playground area for children. A pavilion with picnic tables is available for gatherings and outdoor meals.
The park also features a restroom facility and a community board near the parking lot, where visitors can find information about local events and disc golf leagues. A stream restoration project is underway in parts of the park, with designated areas left unmowed to allow natural vegetation to stabilize the stream bank.
Kentwood Park is open daily from sunrise to sunset, except for areas with lighting which may remain open later. The park's proximity to NC State University makes it a popular spot for college students, particularly for disc golf.
