Hampton Hills Metropark

Hampton Hills Metro Park is a 665-acre park located in Akron, Ohio. The park features diverse topography shaped by glacial activity during the last ice age, including steep ravines, streams, and wooded hillsides.

The park's landscape includes oak, elm, sycamore and black walnut trees that provide habitat for various wildlife. Visitors can observe birds like woodcocks, wild turkeys, and red-tailed hawks soaring above the meadows. The park is also known for its spring wildflowers and variety of mushrooms and ferns.

Hampton Hills offers some of the most challenging hiking trails in the Summit Metro Parks system. The 3.2-mile Adam Run Trail and 1.6-mile Spring Hollow Trail form a figure-eight path through ravines and across streams, providing a demanding hike for visitors. These trails showcase the park's glacially-formed hills and valleys.

At the Top O' the World area, visitors can explore open fields and meadows containing native plants like milkwort, ironweed, Queen Anne's lace, goldenrods and asters. This area, once the site of the old Adam's family homestead, now serves as a habitat for various butterfly species and birds.

The park also features a mountain bike area with approximately 7 miles of trails designed for various skill levels, from beginner to intermediate. Helmets are required for all riders using these bike-only trails.

Hampton Hills Metro Park provides visitors with opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, picnicking, and nature observation in a scenic and ecologically diverse setting.
