Mount Echo Park

Mt. Echo Park is an 84-acre urban park located in the Price Hill neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. Situated atop a hill, the park offers stunning panoramic views of Downtown Cincinnati, the Ohio River, and Northern Kentucky.

The park's history dates back to 1908 when it was established on land that previously served as a dairy farm. Over the years, Mt. Echo Park has become a cherished destination for both locals and visitors seeking a peaceful retreat within the city.

One of the park's most prominent features is the Mt. Echo Pavilion, an Italian Renaissance-style structure built in 1928. Designed by the Cincinnati architectural firm Rendigs, Panzer and Martin, the pavilion was part of a city-wide planning initiative by the Cincinnati Park Board and George Kessler. The pavilion's surroundings were designed by landscape architect A.D. Taylor, enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal of the park.

In 1940, the park saw the addition of the Mt. Echo Picnic Shelter, a New Deal-era structure erected under the Works Progress Administration. Designed by R. Carl Freund, this shelter showcases design elements influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright, organic architectural style, and the WPA "rustic" style.

The park's natural landscape includes steep wooded hillsides and hiking trails, providing opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts to explore and enjoy nature.
