About Big Run Metro Park in Columbus
Big Run Park is a 272.85-acre regional park located in the Greater Hilltop community of Columbus, Ohio. Acquired in 1961, the park features a diverse landscape of heavily wooded areas, several streams, and a pollinator habitat, providing excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing.
The park is home to Derby Hill, one of the few non-roadway derby hills in the country. When not in use for soap box derby events, Derby Hill is open for pedestrians and bicyclists to enjoy.
Big Run Park also includes an athletic complex with four indoor basketball courts that can be rented for various activities. The park's natural setting, combined with its recreational facilities, makes it a versatile destination for both nature enthusiasts and sports lovers.
