Antrim Park

Antrim Park is a 122.62-acre public park located in Columbus, Ohio. Situated at 5800 Olentangy River Road, the park offers a diverse range of natural features and recreational facilities for visitors to enjoy.

The centerpiece of Antrim Park is a large quarried lake, which was formed from a former sand and gravel quarry operated by the Olen Corporation in the 1950s and 1960s. This spring-fed lake, known as Antrim Lake, is stocked annually with rainbow trout by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, making it a popular spot for fishing enthusiasts. A large, accessible dock provides a convenient area for fishing, though swimming and boating are not permitted in the lake.

Surrounding the lake is a 1.2-mile gravel trail that serves as a favored route for walkers, joggers, and runners. The trail offers scenic views of the lake and provides a relatively flat surface suitable for users of various fitness levels. Adjacent to the park, visitors can access the Olentangy Greenway Trail, a paved multi-use path that extends for 12.75 miles, connecting Antrim Park to other areas of Columbus.

The park's history is closely tied to the Antrim family, who donated the land and funds for its development. John Carson Antrim, whose family operated the quarry, played a significant role in the park's creation. The park was officially dedicated in 1978 and has since become an important recreational space for the community.
