Big Walnut Park

Big Walnut Park is a 136.144-acre community park located in the Mid-East area of Columbus, Ohio. The park is split into two sections, with an additional entrance off Lattimer Drive.

The park offers a variety of recreational facilities and natural features. One of its main attractions is the Big Walnut Dog Park, which contains separate areas for small and large dogs. The dog park does not have water access, but it does provide parking (including handicapped spots), portable restrooms, picnic tables, and an informational kiosk for visitors.

Big Walnut Park boasts extensive green spaces and wooded areas, providing a natural habitat for local wildlife. The park includes a pond or lake that is stocked for fishing, offering opportunities for anglers. Additionally, there is water frontage along Big Walnut Creek, enhancing the park's scenic beauty.

For sports enthusiasts, the park features multiple athletic facilities including ball diamonds, basketball courts, tennis courts, and pickleball overlays. A paved path stretching 0.8 miles offers a convenient route for walking, jogging, or biking.

The park also caters to families with a playground and picnic areas. A shelterhouse is available for community gatherings and events, with the capacity to accommodate up to 175 people.
