About Delco Park in Dayton
Delco Park is a 120-acre public park located in Kettering, Ohio, a suburb of Dayton. The park has a rich history dating back to 1953 when it was originally created as the Delco Sportsman's Club by Charles F. Kettering, the inventor and industrialist who founded Delco Electronics.
In the early 1990s, when General Motors decided to leave the Dayton area, Virginia Kettering lobbied for the land to be donated to the City of Kettering. The park was then renamed Delco Park and opened to the public, serving as a popular destination for residents and visitors alike.
Delco Park features a variety of recreational facilities and natural areas. The park includes a large lake with a fishing pier, providing opportunities for fishing and enjoying the water. Multiple sports fields cater to different activities, including soccer and softball. The park also boasts volleyball courts and a BMX track for cycling enthusiasts.

The park is home to the Kettering Veteran's Memorial, which honors those who have served in the military. Additionally, visitors can explore the Charles F. Kettering History Walk, a self-guided tour that tells the story of Charles F. Kettering and his many inventions.
The park's natural setting, with its mix of open spaces and wooded areas, provides a peaceful environment for visitors to enjoy outdoor activities or simply relax in nature. Throughout the year, Delco Park hosts various community events and programs, making it a central gathering place for the Kettering community.
