About Liberty Park in Broken Arrow

Liberty Park is a public recreational area located in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The park spans approximately 9.5 miles, stretching from New Orleans Street (101st Street) near Northeastern State University to where it meets the Mingo Trail.

The park features the Liberty Parkway Trail, a paved pathway that offers opportunities for walking, jogging, cycling, and inline skating. The trail winds through various landscapes, including lowland woods and open areas alongside the Creek Turnpike. While parts of the trail provide shade, significant portions are exposed, particularly those running parallel to the turnpike.

Liberty Park caters to a range of fitness levels, with some sections featuring gentle slopes and others presenting more challenging hills. The western quarter of the trail offers a more varied terrain, while the eastern three-quarters consist of longer, straighter stretches.

The park provides several access points, including trailheads at the Northeastern State University Broken Arrow Campus, Aspen Avenue/145th East Avenue, and the intersection of New Orleans Street/101st Street and Garnett Road. These multiple entry points make the park accessible to residents from different parts of the city.

Visitors should note that water availability is limited along the trail, with only one water fountain reported along its length. The park does not have lighting, which may affect usage during early morning or evening hours.
