Legacy Park

Legacy Park is a picturesque public space located in Norman, Oklahoma, situated just off Interstate 35 in the University North Park area. The park serves as a central feature for a master-planned mixed-use development, offering residents and visitors a serene environment for recreation and relaxation.

The park's centerpiece is a two-acre pond, which is surrounded by lush green spaces and well-maintained walking trails. The pond is enhanced by an impressive array of choreographed fountains and lights, creating a dynamic visual display. These water features, including water cannons and scuppers, contribute to the park's aesthetic appeal and provide a focal point for visitors.

An open-air amphitheater overlooking the pond serves as a venue for performing arts and community events. This feature makes Legacy Park a cultural hub, hosting concerts and other performances throughout the year. The park's design, a collaboration between The McKinney Partnership Architects and Howard-Fairbairn Landscape Architects, has garnered recognition for its innovative approach to public space. In 2018, the project received the People's Choice Award from the Central Oklahoma Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, highlighting its popularity and design excellence.
