Prater Park

Prater Park is a public recreational area located in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The park spans approximately 3.6 acres and is classified as a mini park within the Lower Macungie Township park system. It is situated on Hedgerow Drive, providing easy access for local residents.

Prater Park offers a variety of facilities for both active and passive recreation. The park features several sports courts, including basketball and tennis facilities. For families with children, there is a large play structure equipped with slides and climbing bars, set upon a Fibar safety surface to ensure a safe play environment.

The park also includes open spaces for casual recreation and relaxation. Multiple pavilions are available for gatherings or picnics, including one large concert pavilion and three smaller ones. A series fitness center within the park provides opportunities for exercise and physical activity.

A notable feature of Prater Park is its dedication monument and circular walkway, adding a touch of local history and providing a pleasant area for strolls. The park also includes a memorial for Shawn Virmalo, further connecting it to the community's heritage.
