Nelson Park

Nelson Park is a 19.7-acre public park located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The park offers a variety of recreational facilities and natural spaces for visitors to enjoy.

A key feature of Nelson Park is the Barb Iverson Skate Plaza, one of the largest skate parks in the country at over 22,000 square feet. This state-of-the-art facility provides ample space for skateboarders and other wheel sports enthusiasts to practice their skills. The skate plaza features various elements including a flow bowl area, an advanced section, a rock terrace feature, a street plaza lane, and grind rails to accommodate skaters of different abilities.

The park is also home to the Drake Springs Family Aquatic Center, which includes a swimming pool, waterslide, and sprayground. These aquatic facilities provide a refreshing escape during the warm summer months.

In addition to these specialized areas, Nelson Park offers more traditional park amenities. Visitors can find open fields for casual sports and recreation, as well as picnic areas for gatherings.
