A key feature of Nelson Park is the Barb Iverson Skate Plaza, one of the largest skate parks in the country at over 22,000 square feet. This state-of-the-art facility provides ample space for skateboarders and other wheel sports enthusiasts to practice their skills. The skate plaza features various elements including a flow bowl area, an advanced section, a rock terrace feature, a street plaza lane, and grind rails to accommodate skaters of different abilities.
The park is also home to the Drake Springs Family Aquatic Center, which includes a swimming pool, waterslide, and sprayground. These aquatic facilities provide a refreshing escape during the warm summer months.
