About Richard Greene Linear Park in Arlington
Richard Greene Linear Park is a 41-acre green space located in the heart of Arlington's entertainment district. The park stretches between AT&T Stadium to the west and Globe Life Field to the east, with a lake on its northern side.
The park was developed as part of the Johnson Creek Ecosystem Restoration project, which focused on creek restoration, stream bank stabilization, and ecosystem enhancements. A key feature is the two-mile hike and bike trail that winds through the park, offering visitors a scenic route for walking, jogging, or cycling.
One of the park's notable attractions is the Caelum Moor Environmental Sculptures. This collection comprises five groups of stones created by sculptor Norm Hines. The sculptures were commissioned by Jane Mathes Kelton and cost $1.5 million to construct, taking two years to complete. They were dedicated in 2009 as part of the redevelopment of the Johnson Creek Corridor.
The park provides a green oasis in an otherwise urban area, offering visitors a chance to enjoy nature and outdoor recreation amidst Arlington's bustling entertainment venues. Its location makes it a popular spot for sports fans to relax before or after events at the nearby stadiums.
