Mueller Northwest Greenway

Northwest Greenway is a 30-acre park located in Austin, Texas, as part of the larger Mueller community development. The park serves as a starting point for the Mueller trail system and is situated adjacent to Dell Children's Medical Center.

The greenway features a mix of natural and landscaped areas, including native plantings, shade trees, and over 60 transplanted pecan trees. Several mature red oak trees have also been relocated to the park, contributing to its diverse arboreal landscape. The park's design incorporates both ecological and recreational elements, providing a balance between natural habitat and community use.

A key feature of Northwest Greenway is its 10-foot-wide hike and bike trail, which is made of decomposed granite. This trail connects to the broader Mueller trail network, offering visitors extended walking and cycling opportunities throughout the community. The park's layout is designed to accommodate various passive activities and provide open spaces for relaxation and enjoyment of nature.

Northwest Greenway plays an important role in the Mueller development's stormwater management system. The park includes features for filtering pollutants from stormwater and detaining runoff, which helps mitigate flooding in adjacent areas. The land has been contoured to appear natural while incorporating sound hydrologic engineering principles.
