Riverside Park

Riverside Park is a public green space located in Brownsville, Texas. The park stretches along the banks of the Rio Grande River, offering visitors scenic views of the waterway and surrounding landscape.

This linear park measures approximately 1,000 feet in length and 100 feet in width, featuring a dense grove of trees that gives it an arboretum-like quality. The park serves as a welcome retreat from the urban environment, situated between residential developments and a railroad easement.

In 2018, Riverside Park underwent significant renovations to improve accessibility and recreational offerings. The park now boasts an all-inclusive playground designed to accommodate children of all abilities. This playground includes ramps for wheelchair access, a rumble slide, and soft ground padding for safety.

The park's layout includes a small loop trail, allowing visitors to take leisurely walks or jogs while enjoying the shade provided by the canopy of trees. The trail system and open areas make Riverside Park suitable for various outdoor activities and relaxation.

As part of Brownsville's commitment to inclusive recreation, Riverside Park became the city's fifth all-inclusive park following its 2018 upgrades. This designation reflects the city's efforts to create spaces that are welcoming and accessible to all community members, regardless of physical abilities.
