McKelligon Canyon City Park Area

McKelligon Canyon Park is located on the southeastern side of the Franklin Mountains in El Paso, Texas. The park is part of the larger Franklin Mountains State Park system and offers visitors a chance to experience the natural beauty of the Chihuahuan Desert landscape.

The canyon features steep rock walls and rugged terrain typical of the Franklin Mountains. A paved road winds through the canyon, providing access for visitors. At the end of the canyon lies the 1,503-seat McKelligon Canyon Amphitheatre, an outdoor venue used for concerts, plays, and other performances against the dramatic backdrop of the canyon walls.

The Ron Coleman Trail, one of the more challenging hikes in the area, begins at the end of McKelligon Canyon.
