About Silver Sage Park in Fort Worth
Silver Sage Park is a neighborhood park located in Fort Worth, Texas. Established in 1982, this public recreational space encompasses approximately 10.5 acres of land, primarily serving as a community playground and sports area.
The park lies within the Pawpaw, Weno Limestone, and Denton Clay geologic formations, featuring a diverse soil composition that includes Slidell soils, Speck series, and Branyon series. This unique geological makeup contributes to the park's natural characteristics and vegetation.
Silver Sage Park is situated between two water bodies: a tributary of Big Fossil Creek to the west and Whites Branch to the east. The park's landscape includes open fields suitable for various activities, as well as shaded areas with trees near the playground that provide comfortable picnic spots for visitors.
In 2005, as part of a 2004 bond package, the park received upgrades including new playground equipment. Additional improvements were made in 2006, enhancing the park's facilities for community use.
