Heritage Oaks Park is a public recreational area located in Killeen, Texas. The park is part of the larger Heritage Oaks community and features a hike and bike trail known as the Purser Heritage Hike & Bike Trail. This trail spans approximately 3.8 miles and offers various width sections ranging from 6 to 12 feet, providing ample space for walking, jogging, and cycling activities.
The trail winds through natural landscapes, incorporating hills and several low-water crossings over a creek. This design allows visitors to experience the local terrain and ecology while engaging in outdoor activities. The park serves as a connector between Killeen and the neighboring city of Harker Heights, with a sidewalk along the trail linking the Heritage Oaks trail to Purser park.
Heritage Oaks Park is open to the public daily, with specific rental times available for certain facilities within the park. The rental hours are from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Sunday. There is a fee of $75 for a 4-hour block rental of outdoor facilities, which can be arranged through the city's Parks and Recreation department.
