About Veterans Park in Round Rock
Veterans Park is a community space located in Round Rock, Texas. The park was established to honor and support veterans, providing a peaceful environment for reflection and remembrance.
The centerpiece of Veterans Park is a memorial surrounded by large American and Texas flags. The memorial area also includes flags representing each branch of the military: Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard. This display serves as a focal point for visitors to pay tribute to those who have served in the armed forces.
The park spans two acres and features various amenities for visitors of all ages. For families with young children, there is a toddler playscape and train, as well as swings. The park's landscaping includes lush shade areas and beautiful greenery, with recent additions of a wildflower program that offers vibrant colors in the springtime.
Veterans Park provides opportunities for outdoor activities and relaxation. Visitors can enjoy walks along the stone pathway that winds through the park. Picnic tables and benches are available for those who wish to have a meal or simply sit and enjoy the surroundings.
The park was developed following an inquiry from the late Mr. Jim Cours, a veteran and resident of the nearby Stone Canyon neighborhood, about the feasibility of creating a memorial park. With input from Retired Lt. Colonel and MUD Director Joe Teiber, the Fern Bluff Municipal Utility District brought this vision to life.
