Beacon Hill Linear Park

Beacon Hill Linear Park is a unique green space located in the Beacon Hill neighborhood of San Antonio, Texas. The park spans approximately 3.5 acres and follows an underground stormwater drainage right-of-way, transforming what was once vacant residential land into a vibrant community asset.

Developed in stages since 2013, the park now stretches for a little more than half a mile, offering residents a convenient outdoor space for recreation and relaxation. The linear design of the park incorporates winding paths that meander through native grassy meadows, providing a natural corridor within the urban landscape.

The park's development has been a collaborative effort between the city and local residents. The Beacon Hill Neighborhood Association has been actively involved in the planning and implementation of park improvements, working closely with San Antonio's Parks and Recreation and Development Services departments.

As part of the 2022 General Obligation Bond, $500,000 was allocated for further improvements to Beacon Hill Park, with additional funding of $95,000 coming from the Tree Preservation Fund. These funds are being used to enhance existing features and add new amenities to the park.

Beacon Hill Linear Park serves as more than just a recreational space; it's an example of innovative urban planning that repurposes infrastructure for community benefit.
