The park features two baseball diamonds: Big Simpson and Little Simpson. Big Simpson is slated for renovation, which will include the installation of synthetic turf to address drainage and playability issues. Little Simpson, which has a natural turf field, is also scheduled for re-grading to improve drainage.
In addition to the baseball fields, the park boasts multiple courts for various sports. There are four pickleball courts and two tennis courts, providing ample space for racquet sports enthusiasts. A basketball court is also available for those who prefer shooting hoops.
For dog owners, the park includes a fenced dog area where pets can run and play off-leash. The dog park is equipped with benches, water hoses, kiddie pools, and waste stations to ensure a comfortable experience for both dogs and their owners.
Families with children can enjoy the playground area within the park. Additionally, there are walking trails and picnic areas, offering opportunities for leisurely strolls and outdoor dining.
The park is undergoing renovations as part of a larger improvement plan. Future enhancements include the installation of new bleachers at both baseball fields, improved dugouts, additional storage at Big Simpson, a dedicated concession stand, and a new passive use and picnic area adjacent to the concession stand. The parking lot is also set to be expanded to improve traffic flow.
Eugene Simpson Stadium Park is open daily from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., providing extended hours for community use and enjoyment.
