Kennydale Beach Park

Kennydale Beach Park is a waterfront recreational area located in Renton, Washington, along the shores of Lake Washington. The park spans 1.8 acres of sunny, sandy lakefront, offering visitors a pleasant spot for swimming and outdoor activities.

The park features a swimming beach with a designated swimming area defined by a pier and log boom. While lifeguards are no longer on duty at the swimming area, visitors are encouraged to use caution and be aware of their swimming limits for safety.

For families with children, Kennydale Beach Park includes a nautical-themed playground suitable for ages 2-12. The play area offers a variety of equipment including slides, climbers, and rope bridges. Ground-level components such as a storefront panel, steppers, a balance beam, and sand diggers are also available. A fabric shade covers the play structure for 2-5 year olds, and an additional stand-alone shade structure provides sheltered space for sand play or gatherings.

A unique feature of the park is Tommy the Turtle, a beloved local attraction. Tommy, who has been a part of Renton since the 1960s, was previously located outside various stores and the Renton Highlands Public Library. Now installed near the play area overlooking Lake Washington, Tommy offers a new generation of visitors a chance to enjoy this nostalgic piece of local history.
