About Hockinson Meadows Park in Vancouver
Hockinson Meadows Community Park is a sprawling 240-acre recreational area located in Vancouver, Washington. Developed in 2008-2009 as part of the Greater Clark Parks District program, approximately 70 acres of the park were initially improved for public use.
The park is situated at the northeast corner of Vancouver's urban growth boundary, serving a rapidly growing population of about 25,000 residents who previously lacked access to community park facilities. Due to its strategic location and the high demand for recreational spaces in the area, both Vancouver and Clark County identified Hockinson Meadows as the highest priority community park acquisition project in the entire Vancouver urban area.
Hockinson Meadows Community Park offers a diverse range of facilities catering to various outdoor activities and sports. The park features multiple sports fields, including baseball, t-ball, and soccer fields, providing ample space for team sports and practice sessions. For those seeking a more relaxed experience, the park includes open play meadows, picnic areas with tables, and a covered picnic shelter.
The park also accommodates pet owners with an off-leash dog area where canines can roam freely. Additionally, the property's layout allows for the incorporation of trails, enabling visitors to explore the natural beauty of the area.
