Wequiock Falls County Park

Wequiock Falls County Park is a small but scenic park located in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The park's main feature is a picturesque waterfall formed by Wequiock Creek as it cascades over the Niagara Escarpment, a significant geological formation. The falls are particularly impressive in spring when water flow is at its peak, gradually slowing through the drier summer months.

The park offers visitors a close-up view of the Niagara Escarpment's dolomitic limestone layers, providing an educational opportunity to observe this unique geological feature. A staircase leads down to the base of the falls, allowing visitors to experience the 25-foot high ravine up close. However, the terrain can be slippery, especially after rainfall, so caution is advised.

In addition to the natural attractions, Wequiock Falls County Park has historical significance. It houses a monument to Jean Nicolet, an early French explorer who landed on the shores of Green Bay in 1634. There is also a Wisconsin Official Historical Marker highlighting Red Banks, providing insight into the area's early settlement history.
