Walnut Grove Park

Walnut Grove Park is a community park located on Madison's west side, spanning 20.25 acres. It is situated on N. Westfield Rd., with an alternate entrance near Farmington Way. It is open daily from 4:00 am to 10:00 pm, providing ample time for visitors to enjoy its facilities.

The park features expansive play equipment, making it a popular destination for families with children. Multiple soccer fields are available, offering space for organized sports and casual play. The park also includes a significant amount of open space, encouraging various recreational activities and allowing visitors to enjoy nature.

Walnut Grove Park includes a basketball court with an asphalt surface, though it is not lighted. The park also offers a dedicated dog off-leash area, spanning 1.17 acres. This fenced area includes amenities such as bag dispensers and benches, providing a safe space for dogs to exercise and socialize.

The Parks Division has proposed constructing a 1-mile section of bike-optimized single-track trail in the park.

The park's layout includes curving streets with tall trees, and it is connected to the surrounding neighborhood by lit walking trails. This design contributes to the area's relaxed ambience, making it an ideal spot for those seeking quiet recreational spaces within the city.
