Portland Park

Portland Park is a small neighborhood park located on Madison's east side. Covering approximately 3 acres, this compact green space serves as a local gathering spot for residents of the surrounding area. The park features a mix of open grassy areas and mature trees, providing both sunny spaces and shaded spots for visitors to enjoy.

Originally established in the mid-20th century, Portland Park has evolved to meet the recreational needs of the community. In 2020, the City of Madison Parks Division developed a master plan for improvements to the park, aiming to enhance its facilities and accessibility. As part of this plan, the playground equipment is scheduled for replacement in 2025, ensuring that younger visitors will have updated play options.

The park's central location makes it easily accessible to nearby residents, encouraging regular use for both active recreation and passive enjoyment. Its modest size allows for a variety of activities without overwhelming the neighborhood setting.
