About Fairbanks Park in Anchorage

Fairbanks Park is a small urban park located in downtown Anchorage, Alaska. Situated at the corner of 11th Avenue and Fairbanks Street, this neighborhood park serves as a local recreational space for residents of the Fairview community.

The park was initially developed in 1978 and underwent redevelopment in 1996 using Community Development Block Grant funds. In 2013, the park received further upgrades, including a retrofit of the existing play equipment for 5-12 year olds and a complete replacement of the play equipment for 3-5 year olds.

Fairbanks Park features a playground area with equipment suitable for different age groups. The park provides a space for children to play and for community members to gather. While small in size, it offers a valuable green space within the urban environment of Anchorage.

In 2006, the Fairview neighborhood rallied to improve the safety of Fairbanks Park, demonstrating the community's investment in this local recreational area. The park continues to serve as an important asset for the neighborhood, providing outdoor space for relaxation and play.
