Scenic Park

Scenic Park is a neighborhood park located in east Anchorage, Alaska. The park spans approximately 13 acres and serves as a recreational space for the local community. Situated near Scenic Park Elementary School, it provides a convenient outdoor area for students and residents alike.

The park features a mix of natural and developed spaces. A paved pathway runs through the park, connecting to the elementary school and offering a route for walking, jogging, or cycling. This lighted path ensures safe use even during the darker hours of Anchorage's long winter nights.

One of the park's notable features is its playground area, which includes equipment suitable for children of various ages. The park also boasts tennis courts that have been recently converted to serve as dual-purpose courts for both tennis and pickleball, reflecting the growing popularity of the latter sport in the community.

For winter recreation, Scenic Park includes a sledding hill, providing a fun activity for children and families during the snowy months. The park's open spaces also allow for various informal activities and gatherings throughout the year.

Scenic Park has benefited from community involvement and volunteer efforts. A local group known as the "Golden Girls" has adopted the park, contributing to its maintenance and cleanliness.
