About Nichols Park in Gilbert

Nichols Park is a 32-acre recreational area located at 700 N. Higley Road in Gilbert, Arizona. Situated on the north side of Tremaine Road, just west of Higley Road, the park offers a spacious environment for various outdoor activities and relaxation.

The park features 6 acres of multi-use open space, providing ample room for different recreational pursuits. During the winter months, Nichols Park serves as the home grounds for the Arizona Cricket Club. It is considered to be the best cricket grounds in the state of Arizona and one of the finest in the entire United States.

Nichols Park is part of the larger Water Ranch complex and connects to the Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch trail system to the west via the Western Powerline Trail, which runs along the southern border of the park. This connection allows visitors to extend their outdoor experience beyond the park's boundaries.

It's worth noting that as of March 2022, Nichols Park was temporarily closed to allow for storage and staging of project WA1589: North Water Treatment Plant (NWTP) Facility Upgrades and Reconstruction. Visitors are advised to check the current status of the park before planning their visit.
